PANAMA WITH GOOD RATING IN TRAVEL AND TOURISM RANKING

The Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) has reinforced its strategy to achieve and strengthen air connectivity with Latin American and European airlines. Panama was ranked as the third leading Latin American country in travel and tourism, according to the Competitiveness Index 2015. The Panama Tourism Authority has managed and achieved agreements of aerial connectivity with the German Lufthansa; Iberia of Spain, which will have in our country its regional headquarters for Central America; Aeroméxico, which has started flights to the Panamanian capital; and TAP of Portugal, among others. MORE THAN HALF A MILLION VISITORS ENTER PANAMA IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

More than half a million visitors entered our country during the months of January and February 2015 according to the official statistics of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, said the Administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP). Visitors in January and February 2015 were 512,107. This represents an increase of 12.4% over the same period of 2014, with an absolute variation of 56,467 additional visitors. Official statistics also indicate that 340,559 visitors visited the Tocumen International Airport in January and February 2015, an increase of 20%; with an additional 56,823 to the previous period in 2014. MORE CONNECTIONS FROM EUROPE TO PANAMA EXPAND TRAVEL OPTIONS

Panama remains one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the European market and the opening of new direct routes from Europe with a frequency of weekly flights further expands the range of options in response to the growing demand of travelers. Only in the first four months of 2016 have a total of 68,192 travelers from Europe entered the Tocumen International Airport with the airlines KLM, Iberia, Airfrance and Lufthansa.
